As reported yesterday on Vanishing New York, the Village Paper Store- IMHO the best place to buy ridiculous old-school comedy props in NYC- has burnt down.
Let me just say I loved this store. Back when I was doing sketch comedy,  it was the first place I’d turn whenever I needed a ludicrous and hilarious object. [...]
