This past weekend, I went out to California for some personal business- meeting my girlfriend’s family. Adventure!

While out there, I saw several awesome things. 

Firstly, I saw a performance by the graduating class of Circus Center San Francisco Clown Conservatory. It’s a one year professional clown conservatory- and the work was very impressive. My especial favorites were a robot clown whose master is a maniacal gypsy, and a sleek contortionist who is outdone by her dopey overweight assistant. 

After the show, we spent the night in a house inhabited solely by clowns from the Pi Clowns physical comedy troupe. They seem to have a very special thing going on- they’ll be in the SF Fringe this summer, and are heading off to Barcelona next year. Their next show will be a show all about death- and they already have an enormous black coffin looming in their living room. Check that one off the list. It also doubles as a daily motivator. 

Hopefully some of these lovely folk will show their faces in NYC sometime soon. Perhaps? Maybe? Who can say? Best of luck to them wherever they go!
